Donald Trump Responds to Kamala Harris’ Policy Platform

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign tore into Kamala Harris’ policy platform after the Democratic nominee posted it on her website.
“Kamala finally has what is very generously being described as a ‘policy page’ on her website. She says her plan is a ‘New Way Forward,’ but she’s been in the White House for 4 years, and it’s been a total disaster,” the Trump War Room account wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The page on Harris’ campaign website is divided into four sections: “Build an Opportunity Economy and Lower Costs for Families,” “Safeguard Our Fundamental Freedoms,” “Ensure Safety and Justice for All,” and “Keep America Safe, Secure and Prosperous.”
At the bottom of the page, the policies are contrasted to “Trump’s Project 2025 Agenda,” a policy platform issued by a conservative group.

In a thread of posts on X, the Trump campaign repeatedly criticized Harris’ plans, asking why she had not implemented these proposals despite four years in the White House.
The X posts include claims that Harris would hand out cash to illegal immigrants for housing and bring in “communist-style” controls over the country’s food supply.
Trump’s campaign also sought to blame the current vice president for higher inflation and said she would not bring down health care costs.
Out of 11 posts, the campaign mentions the southwest border or immigration in four.
“Kamala claims she would secure the border,” one post read.
“Kamala is the border czar who intentionally unsecured the border, imported 20M illegals — including terrorists, murderers, & rapists, and is attempting to turn them into American citizens with voting rights and benefits.”
Since becoming the Democratic nominee, Harris’s role as “border czar” has been mentioned multiple times throughout the campaign.
Under President Joe Biden, Harris was tasked with trying to reduce migration from Central and Southern America through diplomatic means and not by working on issues at the United States-Mexico border specifically.
Newsweek reached out to the Harris-Walz campaign for comment Monday afternoon via email.
Trump’s running mate, Ohio senator JD Vance, also shared his views on Harris’ policies on X, including her plans to make first-time home buyers’ lives easier.
“Kamala wants to give every first time homebuyer a $25,000 check toward downpayment assistance,” Vance posted. “What she fails to leave out is that this would likely raise the average home price by the same amount, making her plan moot. We also haven’t heard how the debt-burdened federal government would pay for such a plan.”
Both Vance and the Trump War Room account return to a common theme of the GOP’s attack on the Democratic candidate: the idea that she favors immigrants.
On Harris’ website, the campaign argues that a second Trump administration would mean less secure borders and a failure to deal with violence in communities across the U.S.
Harris has promised to bring back the bipartisan border bill, which Trump allegedly helped to halt earlier this year and to sign it into law.
On the economy and personal finance, the Democrats argue Trump would only look out for the rich, adding that his economic policies would trigger a recession by 2025.
